Helle Søholt, co-founder and partner of Gehl Architects, is one of four recipients of an honorary 2009 Velo City bicycle. The bicycle was presented to Helle at the recent Velo-City conference in Brussels, Belgium. The Velo-city conference series is the most important conference in cycling policy in the world and is hosted every two years by a European city. Velo-city is organized by the European Cyclists’ Federation (ECF) which is recognised as the first address in the bicycle world. In 2010 the conference will be hosted by Copenhagen, Denmark. Mayor Klaus Bondam of Copenhagen, together with EU commissioner for transport, Antonio Tajani, and Francesca Racioppi of WHO – European Centre for Environment and Health, were the other recipients of an honorary 2009 Velo City bicycle.>> Read more about Velo City here
